Universal Express is a helpful system that allows guests to
experience attractions without waiting in long lines. Express
passes, or as they are called - "Universal Express PLUS" passes
(commonly abbreviated as "UEP"), are sold at nine separate
locations throughout the resort. These passes are sold as single
park (Islands of Adventure, or Universal Studios Florida) only
tickets, or a combo park (includes both Islands of Adventure and
Universal Studios Florida) ticket. Ticket price varies on how
busy the park is. On slow days you can expect to pay anywhere
from $15-25 on Express, and on a busy day the price can be close
to $40 or more. Purchasing a combo pass is generally cheaper
than purchasing two single park tickets, however Express passes
are valid only on the day purchased.
Express passes for special events such as Mardi Gras, Halloween
Horror Nights, and Rock the Universe exist and are specially
priced. For Mardi Gras and Rock the Universe, you can expect to
find after 5:00pm Express passes in the field of $10. For
Halloween Horror Nights, Express passes typically range from $35
to $70 depending on the night.
Express passes are good one time on each of the attractions that
utilizes the program. For those wishing to ride an attraction
multiple times, the stand-by entrance must be used after your
one-time Express allowance is used. Express passes, depending on
crowds, are prone to sell out fairly early in the day. In the
peak seasons, and especially so for Halloween Horror Nights, UEP
tends to sell out weeks in advance. Universal sells limited
quantities to minimize the amount of guests using the Express
queues.
